Information Stored Locally on Your Device
Aiko stores the following information locally on your device:
- API Keys: Your OpenAI, Google Gemini, Groq, or Ollama API keys are stored securely using encrypted storage on your device
- Knowledge Base Entries: Personal notes, knowledge entries, headers, content, and tags you create
- Chat History: Your conversations with the AI assistant
- Settings and Preferences: Your app settings including AI provider selection, theme preferences, and voice activation settings
- Custom Wake Word: If you enable voice activation, your custom wake word phrase
Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do NOT collect, transmit, or store any of your data on our servers
- We do NOT track your usage or behavior
- We do NOT share your information with third parties
- We do NOT have access to your API keys, chat history, or knowledge base
How Your Data is Used
All data is stored locally on your device and is used solely to:
- Provide AI assistant functionality by sending your messages to your chosen AI provider (OpenAI, Google Gemini, Groq, or Ollama)
- Store and retrieve your personal knowledge base entries
- Maintain your chat history for context
- Remember your app preferences and settings
- Enable voice input and text-to-speech features
Third-Party Services
When you use Aiko, your messages are sent directly from your device to the AI provider you have selected:
OpenAI
Google Gemini
Groq
Ollama (Self-Hosted)
- If you use Ollama, your messages are sent to your own Ollama server
- No third-party data sharing occurs with this option
Important: We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party AI providers. Please review their respective privacy policies.
Permissions
Aiko requests the following permissions:
- Internet Access: Required to communicate with AI provider APIs
- Microphone: Required for voice input feature (optional, only if you enable voice features)
- Audio Recording: Required for speech-to-text functionality (optional, only if you enable voice features)
Data Security
- API keys are stored using Flutter Secure Storage with encryption
- All data remains on your device
- Communications with AI providers use HTTPS encryption
- We do not have access to your device or data
Data Retention and Deletion
- All data is stored locally on your device
- You can delete your data at any time by:
- Clearing individual chat messages or knowledge entries within the app
- Uninstalling the app (this removes all app data from your device)
- We do not retain any data as we do not collect or store data on our servers
Children's Privacy
Aiko is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

- You can export or backup your data by accessing your device's app data
- You can permanently delete all data by uninstalling the app
